38th Edition of Ramat Cup Football Tournament Begins In Kano

The much anticipated 38th Edition of the U-16 Ramat Cup International Football Tournament has started in earnest in the ancient city of Kano.

The competition started with the screening of the participating players for the required Under -16 Boys’ Category.

At the end of the screening, all the 20 players presented by the Kwara Team passed.

While Kano had 19 players, Osun had 14, Kebbi 15.

12 players qualified from Ekiti, Bauchi had 18, 13 made it from Nasarawa, Gombe had 14, Zamfara 14, Oyo with 17, Sokoto had 18, while 17 players made it from Kaduna.

Other teams are still being expected and would be screened on Sunday, as soon as they arrive.

After the screenings, the Technical Department and the Main Organising Committee immediately did the draws, in line with the tournament rules.

The competition pairings for the group matches are as follow

Group A
Kano
Rivers
Zamfara
Ogun

Group B
Kwara
Nasarawa
Kaduna
Gombe

Group C
Lagos
FCT
Bauchi
Sokoto

Group D
Oyo
Kebbi
Osun
Ekiti
Katsina

The first round of the matches would be played tomorrow, Sunday morning, 21st March, 2021.

The pairings:

  1. Kwara Vs Nasarawa 8.30am
  2. Lagos Vs FCT
  3. Oyo Vs Kebbi
  4. Kano Vs Rivers 10am
  5. Kaduna Vs Gombe
  6. Bauchi Vs Sokoto
  7. Osun Vs Ekiti

All matches would be played at the Mahaha Sports Complex, Kano.

Other fixtures will be made available tomorrow, Sunday.
