The Edo State Government says thirty nine more healthcare workers have been infected by the second COVID-19 wave in the State.
These figures were made public by the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Health, Dr. Osamwonyi Irowa at a media briefing in Benin City.
Dr.Irowa who expressed concern over the increasing number of positive cases among healthcare workers called for strict adherence to safety protocols to check the spread of the disease.

He said his ministry has held series of meetings with other key health sector players to fashion out ways to halt the spread of the disease, adding that the state government has procured additional Personal Protection Equipment PPE for distribution to healthcare workers across the state.
