The Police in Borno State has confirmed the death of one person with 16 others injured, following 3 bomb explosions in Maiduguri, the state capital on the eve of Eid El Kabir celebration. The explosions were said to have occurred at Mairi, Custom and Gwange areas of the metropolis.
The actual cause of the explosions were yet to be ascertained as at the time of this report, but the Police say its teams had been dispatched to the areas to investigate.
Loud sounds of the explosions sent many residents scampering for safety. Latest reports, however, say 6 people were killed in the multiple explosions with 21 others sustaining different degrees of injuries.
Security personnel comprising the Army, Police, Rapid Response Squad, Civilian Joint Tast Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were said to have rushed to the scenes to restore normalcy.
