The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has pleaded with Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State to resume payment of stipends to corps members serving in government ministries, departments and agencies of the State.
Doing this according to NYSC, will further improve the corps members welfare, motivate and enable them to have a pleasurable experience about the tourism state years after their service.

Cross River State Coordinator of NYSC, Eddy Megwa made this known while speaking with newsmen in Calabar, the state capital.
He commended the State Government for providing the enabling environment for the scheme to thrive, saying regular payment of monthly stipends to the serving corps members will further give them a sense of belonging like Federal Government recently did.
Serving corps members in Cross River State have been consistently calling on the State Government to pay them the monthly stipend of N5,000 which was stopped some years ago.
