Cross River State Government says there is need for all citizens to get involved on the need to know the symptoms and causes of the deadly Coronavirus disease killing hundreds of people across the world.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu, stated this during the Coronavirus sensitisation campaign to the riverine communities of Odukpani Local Government Area of the state.
Edu, who expressed worries about the prevalence of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), in Nigeria , explained that Cross River will not wait until the disease enters Nigeria before enlightening the people on the causes and symptoms.
The development, the Director General of State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Janet Ekpeyong, said that over 800 local inter and intra border communities have been earmarked for the exercise.

The aggressive sensitisation also features deworming exercise in different community schools to avoid epidemics transmitted ailments as part of the 2020 World Neglected Tropical Disease Day Celebration.
