Some Youth groups in Katsina State, the Youths Enlightenment Crusade on “Peace and Development”, have called on the President-elect Senator Bola Tinubu to form a National Government that will bring about unity and development of the country.

The group also charged Tinubu to hit the ground running by assembling a committee of experts that will manage the economy, tackle inflation and other financial predicaments facing Nigerians.

The position of the groups was as a result of the emergence of Tinubu as president-elect in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly Elections

Speaking on behalf of the group, Bashir Abu-Sabe said, though the Presidential and National Assembly Elections were not perfect due to some challenges but were a bit better than the preceding ones, though there were cases of vote buying which took another dimension.

According to him, the elections witnessed an increase in the use of foodstuffs, foreign currencies, household goods and other materials for inducing voters and prayed such trend should be discouraged

For the Northwest region battling with insecurity, the group also charged the president-elect to do everything possible to see that the situation is brought under control for peace and development.

The youth groups are also calling on Tinubu to ensure that all the ongoing projects started by the Federal Government are completed, before new ones are initiated.

Abu-Sabe also said the youth groups want the President-elect to make a wide consultation with the people of katsina state to select who will serve in his cabinet so that, the best katsina indigene with clear interest in building people and the state is selected.

They therefore call on politicians to exercise patience at this trying times and guard against inflammatory statements that could lead to violence.
