No fewer than 10 opposition political parties, in Cross River State, South-South Nigeria have collapsed their structures to support the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governorship candidate, Professor Sandy Onor ahead of the March 18 election.
The opposition who are operating under the aegis of Coalition of Political Parties, COPP, said the choice of Professor Onor as the next State Governor was based on his competence, capacity and character.
In a statement signed by Chairman of the Coalition who is also the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, State Chairman, Ntami Esege,said the group is conscious of what the state has gone through in the last eight years and unanimously resolved to support a man with the right credentials to lead the State to an enviable height.

The statement said that the decision was reached after a careful assessment of all Governorship candidates was done and it was concluded that the PDP standard bearer was the best man for the job.
The Coalition that endorsed the PDP candidate are the African Democratic Congress, ADC; Zenith Labour Party, ZLP; Action Alliance, AA; Allied Peoples Movement, APM; National Rescue Movement, NRM; Action Democratic Party, ADP and Accord Party, AP, among others.
