The reconciliation committee recently set up by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has appealed to the Nigerian Football Players Union and the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria to ‘let go’ of issues between them which have militated against the development of the unions.
This appeal was made by the Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu after a meeting at Government House, Benin City.
The meeting was at the instance of the Deputy Governor of Edo State.

Representatives of the feuding unions said they were optimistic about the resolution of the contentious issues
The Football Associations consist of both retired and active players.
Members of the peace committee, aside from the Deputy Governor include Abdul-Rafiu Yusuf as secretary, Garba Lawal, Felix Owolabi-Akinloye, and Emmanuel Okala.
