The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP has condemned the dethronement of Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II by the Kano State government.
At a news briefing in Abuja, the coalition spokesperson, Ugo Chinyere described the dethronement and banishment of the Emir to Nasarawa state as most unfortunate.

The coalition pledged to support the deposed Emir should he seek legal redress.
The CUPP expressed the hope that the issue will be fairly and amicably resolved.
