The All Progressive Congress APC in Gombe state believes the recent investigations into members involved in anti-party activities prior and during the General elections is important to ensure discipline amongst the members and put the party on a sound footing under the leadership of the re-elected state governor who is the party leader

The officials led by the Chief of staff Inuwa Kyari say more work would be done to ensure the Party’s unity as the Governor kick starts his second term in office with the majority of the party members in the state house of assembly.
One of the members placed under investigation is the current senator in the 15th senate Sen Bulus Amos who denied involvement in anti-party activities. He stated that he remains a loyal party member eager to participate in the ruling Party’s activities.

The Labour party governorship candidate Keftin Amuga has submitted his petition over the re-election of incumbent governor Inuwa Yahaya.

It is a major surgical move by the All Progressive Congress in Gombe state
In the spate of two weeks it had embarked in investigations of its members involved in anti-party activities during the elections as the party believed it was what led to their loss in some areas in the state

According to the chief of staff Inuwa Kyari the APC wants to set a standard in party discipline and ensure party unity in the state

However, the current senator at the center of investigations Sen Bulus Amos denied being part of any anti-party activities stating his record in supporting the party in the state

The labour party in Gombe state has joined the Peoples Democratic Party in challenging the outcome of the governorship elections, according to the legal representative of the governorship candidate Keftin Amuga their grouse are on two fronts, first the inconsistency of figures in form EC 8A and the results sheet
Secondly the absence of labour party acronym on the ballot paper which has disenfranchised labour party and its supporters from participating in the governorship elections

It is certainly interesting time in Gombe as party politics take center stage with future of politics in the North East setting a familiar picture that its perception is yet to be understood for now
