The Court of Appeal in Abuja, has affirmed the election of Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party, YPP as the senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District.
Justice Steven Adah who led the 3-member panel of justices in a unanimous decision held that the lower court had no jurisdiction to entertain the matter , he therefore voided the judgement of the lower court and upheld the appeal.

The appellate court further awarded the cost of N250,000 each to be paid by Anani Chuka and the fourth respondent to Ifeanyi Ubah.
Justice Bello Kawu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Kubwa, Abuja, had on January 17 nullified Ubah’s election as the senator representing Anambra South.
In the judgement, the court also ordered INEC to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Ubah and a new one be given to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Uzoh who came second in the election
