Nigeria military produce locally made ventilators

The Nigerian military through its Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria, DICON has begun the local production of ventilators and protective personal equipment to support governments and the international community in the fight against coronavirus.

The equipment is a major appliance for artificial respiration used by covid-19 patients.

Unveiling the medical supplies and equipment in Abuja, the coordinator, Defence media operations, man.gen. John Enenche said Nigeria Armed forces has succeeded in diversifying its human resources to develop the capacity for massive production of the all important equipment.

Enenche noted that the armed forces was working with the ministry of health and other government relevant agencies for the quick development and distribution of the medical supplies and equipment.

The defence industries corporation of Nigeria was working towards building the capacity for production of 100 ventilators and hundreds of personal protective equipment within a month to fast track the treatment and containment of the virus.
