Nigeria records 3 straight days of rise in Coronavirus deaths

The number of Coronavirus deaths in a single day in Nigeria has been on the rise for three consecutive days.

The figure has risen from 10 on Friday and 11 on Saturday to 15 on Sunday with the total number of lives lost to the virus since the first confirmed case in Nigeria now 143.

Nigeria has recorded 248 new Coronavirus infections in 17 states and Federal Capital Territory bringing total number of confirmed cases to 4,399.

The breakdown of the 248 new cases are 81-Lagos, 35-Jigawa, 26 each in Borno and Kano, 20-Bauchi, 13-FCT, 12-Edo and 10-Sokoto States.

There are also seven cases in Zamfara, four each in Kwara and Kebbi, two each in Gombe, Taraba, Ogun and Ekiti, one each in Osun and Bayelsa States.

Jigawa and Sokoto have now joined eight other states that have over 100 confirmed Coronavirus cases each in the country.

Meanwhile, 33 Coronavirus patients were discharged across Nigeria on Sunday with total number of successfully treated cases now 778.
