The sudden increase in the number of COVID-19 infections in Abia State has been blamed on the continuous influx of people into the state.

Some of the residents who spoke to AIT predicted that there could be more infections in the state if the border movement is not strictly controlled.

The residents accuse some security agents of escorting passengers into the state, they therefore called on relevant authorities to tighten all the inter-state borders to ensure complete restriction.

On Monday, result of Abia state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, and that of other sixty-six Abia indigenes sent for Covid 19 test, returned positive.
