Niger State Governor, Umar Bago has approved the immediate dissolution of members of the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission, NSIEC.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Information officer in the Office of Secretary to the Niger State Government Lawal Tanko and made available to the media in Minna the state capital.

The statement said Governor Umar Bago has directed the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman to ensure that the dissolution takes immediate effect from May 29, 2023.
The statement said the Secretary to the Niger State Government has directed all affected members of the Commission to hand over all property of the State Government in their possession to the most senior Director in the Commission before exiting the office.
