The Nigerian Senate resumed plenary this Tuesday after a two-week break for the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
Meanwhile, the APC caucus in the red chamber has named its principal officers to include Opeyemi Bamidele representing Ekiti Central senatorial district from the South West as Senate Leader while Dave Umahi from the South East representing Ebonyi South is now the Deputy Senate Leader.
Ali Ndume representing Borno South in the North East has been named Senate Chief Whip just as Lola Ashiru from Kwara South in North Central takes the position of Deputy Chief Whip.

In the same vein, the PDP caucus in the Senate has also announced its principal officers as Simon Mwadkwo from Plateau North has emerged Senate Minority Leader with Oyewumi Olalere from Osun West now Deputy Minority Leader.
Labour Party’s Darlington Nwokocha from Abia Central is the new Senate Minority Whip while Rufai Hanga from the New Nigeria Peoples’ Party, NNPP takes the position of Senate Deputy Minority whip
