The Police in Katsina have confirmed the attack on one of its patrol vehicles, resulting in its burning by some suspected miscreants.
In a statement by the spokesman of the police, Assistant Superintendent, ASP Abubakar-Sadiq Aliyu, the command also arrested eight suspects who participated in the attack.

The fact of the case, according to Aliyu, is that on July 4, at about 1:00 p.m., a commercial motorcycle rider, in a bid to escape arrest by men of the Command’s State Motor Traffic Division, MTD, while discharging their lawful duty, fell from the motorcycle which was crushed by a passing truck.
He added that as a result of the development, some unscrupulous elements took advantage of the situation, aided his escape, and attack the police patrol vehicle, by setting it ablaze.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Musa, is therefore calling on the people of the state to continue to be law-abiding and avoid taking laws into their hands.
