Three people die in multiple road crash in FCT

About three people have been confirmed dead after a multiple road accident that occurred on Saturday, July 8 at Dutse Baupma in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

In a statement signed by the FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, four other victims are currently receiving medical treatment at the Kubwa General Hospital.

The statement said “the FCT Police Command is deeply saddened to report that upon receiving a distress call from a concerned citizen near the Tipper Garage, some traffic personnel promptly responded and rushed to the scene and took the victims to Kubwa General Hospital for urgent medical attention”.

The three persons confirmed dead by the medical doctor on duty include Hosea Stehen, from EFAB Metropolis Estate, Karasana, Abuja; Muhammad Lawal, from Jere, Kaduna State and Bashir Shaibu, also from Jere, Kaduna State.

The four survivors who sustained various degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Kubwa General Hospital are Maria Ibeku, Ebuka Eleodimuo, Joy Adebayo and Bashir Haruna all of Mbouko village, Dutse, and Karasana village in Abuja.

The statement further stated that four of the vehicles involved in the accident have been safely secured at the police station. They are Black Toyota Camry with registration number YAB 355 AH; Toyota Pilot (registration number unknown), a truck (registration number unknown), and a tricycle with registration number KUJ 571 VE.

The statement also noted that a Toyota Jeep with registration number BWR 468 CD, believed to belong to a Department of State Security, DSS officer, was taken from the scene by a personnel of the Service from Ushafa, Abuja who was identified as David C.Y Audu, a male resident of Ushafa.
