The National Association of Resident Doctors NARD, says it is yet to call off its one-week old strike, even though it held a meeting with the Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF as it seeks to resolve their grievances.
After the meeting which had the NGF Chairman and Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi in attendance, the NGF spokesperson , Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, said that the Resident Doctors have called off their one week old strike. Bello-Barkindo said the NARD President, Dr Aliyu Sokomba reached out to the NGF Secretariat at the end of the meeting with the Governors that the doctors have agreed to “call off the strike” to allow the Governors address their complaints.
NARD in a swift reaction denied announcing a suspension of the strike. National Publicity Secretary of the Association, Stanley Egbogu told ait.live on the phone that the body will meet and take a decision on the matter.

The Association is scheduled to hold a media conference on Sunday where it is expected to officially confirm or deny that a resolution has been reached.
