Bauchi State government has directed that the fertilizer, NPK 201010 be sold at the rate of N5000, while Urea is sold at N7000 per bag, directly to peasant farmers.
Governor Bala Mohammed gave the directive while launching the commencement of the sale of fertilizer for the 2020 wet season.
He warned that anyone caught selling the commodity above the official prices will be dealt with.
Governor Mohammed said his administration is committed to revamping the agricultural sector by introducing the organic farming system, which he hinted is the new order.

The Governor asked farmers not to panic over the negative effects of COVID-19 and assured that the government will mop up the excess farm produce, in order to mitigate against food shortage.
