Commander of the National Drug Law Agency, NDLEA, Katsina State Command, Sule Momodu says the agency has apprehended 158 suspects with a total of 368.15kilograms of assorted hard drugs in the State.
Sule Momodu who stated this as Nigeria joined the rest of the world to mark the United Nations Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking said the seizures which covered operations in first half of the year, is part of their efforts to curb the spate of insecurity in the state.
The commander while speaking on the success story of the command, said for the country to get rid of banditry and other crimes, drug abuse must be fought to a standstill.
While hailing the doggedness and professionalism exhibited by his men over the period under review,Momodu said they were able to crack new means devised by drug traffickers especially concealing them in eggshells.
The NDLEA boss Momodu pledged his commands readiness to rid the state off drug abuse despite the operational challenges from human to logistics, commander facing the command.

Sule Momodu admonished illicit drug dealers and vendors to seek other legitimate businesses, warning that the agency will not condole such acts as 16 suspects have so far been convicted while the command has counseled about 120 drug addicts
