The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in Kwara state, says it has impounded over 5,880 kg of assorted illicit drugs which includes cannabis sativa, tramadol, codeine syrup and others in the last one month of its operations in the state
State Commander of the NDLEA, Umoru Ambrose disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Ilorin the state capital in commemoration of the 2020 united nations international day against drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking with the theme: better knowledge for better care.
Umoru said 380 suspects were arrested under the period in review, of which 304 are males while 76 are females.
He added that 138 persons have been counseled and reintegrated with their families.

Umoru however expressed worry that female folks now play active roles in drugs peddling in the state as 49 out of 195 suspects arrested from January 2020 to date, were s arrested in their provision stores and others in their homes.
