The Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has dissolved the Governing Council of the Benue State University, BSU, Makurdi, with immediate effect.
According to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor also constituted a 7-man Visitation Panel with the mandate to, among other things, thoroughly audit the activities of the university from 2016 when the last panel visited.
Kula noted that the panel was asked to comprehensively investigate activities at the institution and report back accordingly for necessary action.

Other terms of reference for the panel are contained in the letter conveying the decision of the Visitor.
“The panel which is headed by Gabriel Moti as Chairman has Simon Orkuma as Secretary. Other members include, Kwaghkondo Agber, Igyeigye Peter, Christie Ekoja, Sam Yuhwa, and Okpe Okpe”, he added.
