The Ondo State Governorship Election Screening Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has confirmed that 2 aspirants in the race may not participate in the July 22 party primaries.
Speaking with newsmen at the end of the screening exercise on Friday, Chairman of the Committee and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, said though those screened out were at liberty to approach the Appeals Committee on Monday, to seek redress, he is not happy to report that 2 aspirants failed the litmus test.
Dogara said the 2 aspirants who failed the screening, are yet to be disqualified, as the Committee lacks the powers to disqualify anybody. He, however, declined to give the names of the affected aspirants.

Meanwhile, there are yet to be confirmed reports that the Committee advised the Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi to consider resigning his position as Deputy Governor if he emerges as the candidate of the party after the July 22 primaries.
Aspirants who participated in the screening exercise are the State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede, Dr. Eddy Olafeso, Barrister Sola Ebiseni and Senator Boluwaji Kunlere thers are Banji Ben Okunomo, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye and Bode Ayorinde.
