The people of Ogbogoro-Egbelu in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State have been sacked by the ravaging floods which destroyed their property and forced many to flee their homes
Some of the residents who spoke to AIT appealed to the Rivers State Government to come to their rescue.
This year’s rainy season is beginning to take its toll on residents of Ogbogoro-Egbelu in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state.
Nwoye Beatrice, a resident of Ogbogoro-Egbelu, and a mother of three children, while narrating her ordeal, said the flood disaster has rendered them homeless and making life unbearable.
The residents said the road which was awarded two years ago by the Rivers State Government was abandoned by the contractors handling the project and it’s now the major cause of the flooding.

The residents of Ogbogoro-Egbelu have been going through difficulties accessing their houses and are, therefore, calling on the Rivers State Government to come to their rescue.
As the people grapple with the impact of the floods, it is hoped that help will come their way as soon as possible.
