Suspended Local Government Chairmen in Plateau state have appealed to Governor Caleb Mutfwang to rescind the appointments of transition committees across the 17 Council areas of the state to allow them resume work immediately.
The suspended chairmen who made the plea while briefing newsmen in Jos also called on the Inspector General of police to unsealed the LG Secretariats for them.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang, on the recommendation of the 9th Plateau Assembly on financial misappropriation suspended the elected 17 local government chairmen on June 1, 2023. But the chairmen, however, challenged their suspension at Plateau High Court.
While briefing newsmen in Jos, the suspended chairmen Pleaded with the Governor that the transition committees appointed were illegal.
They described as laughable the recent Court order directing the Plateau police commissioner to unseal the local government secretariats.
They appealed to the Inspector General of Police to take immediate action to unseal the 17 Local government council secretariats and allow constitutionally and Democratically elected officials resume their work.
