The ruling All Progressives Congress in Ondo state has received a major boost following the defection of 203 Peoples Democratic Party Councilors.
Receiving the Defectors,the state chairman of the APC, Ade Adetimehin said the development signals an end to the state’s major opposition party and evidence that the ruling party is united and battle ready ahead of the local government and governorship elections in 2024.

While promising the decampees equal representation in the party, the party chairman encouraged them to be exemplary leaders at their various wards.
On behalf of the defectors, Yinka Akosile said they patiently waited in the opposition party long enough before deciding to join the APC, adding that their decision was largely influenced by what they described as the exceptional leadership of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
