Jibrin Ndagi Baba, the member representing Lavun Constituency has emerged as the new Deputy Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly.
The emergence of the new Deputy Speaker followed the resignation of the immediate past Deputy Speaker and member representing Bida 1 constituency, Baqo Kasim Alfa, who tendered a letter of resignation before the assembly members. Reason for the resignation was, however, not made public.
The member representing Paikoro Constituency, Gambo Sulaiman Rabiu, thereafter, nominated Jibrin Ndagi Baba, representing Lavun Constituency and was seconded by member representing Kontagora 2 constituency, Saleh Ibrahim Alhaji.

The new Deputy Speaker, shortly after he was sworn in by the Speaker, Abdullahi Wuse, appreciated the members for the confidence reposed in him.
He assured members of the Assembly that he will do his best in the discharge of his responsibilities as the Deputy Speaker.
