The Federal Government has commenced the distribution of farm input to farmers in Anambra State, south-east Nigeria, as part of the steps to cushion the impact of Coronavirus.
The distribution, which is a tripartite arrangement between the Federal Government, International Fund for Agricultural Development, IFAD, and Anambra State government, is aimed at improving agricultural production as well as prevent food scarcity in the coming year.
Some of the farmers who spoke to AIT expressed optimism that the inputs will improve yield but want more support in the supply of modern equipments that can fast track agriculture.

The input to be distributed to farmers in the eight participating council areas of Anambra State include improved cassava cuttings, rice seedlings, fertilizers, and herbicides among other items.
