Kogi Election: Gov. Bello Meets Party Stalwarts

Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello wants APC leaders in the state to put in more work to ensure victory for the party’s governorship candidate, Ahmed Ododo during the November 11 polls

Bello who gave the advice during a meeting held at the government house in Lokoja, warned party members to desist from any act of violence as such would not be tolerated.

The Kogi state governor said past leaders and governors of the state did not emerge on the basis of ethnic agenda hence such must not be allowed to thrive in the state.

Governor Bello expressed optimism that the party’s candidate, Usman Ododo, would win the November 11 election and noted that no party in the state has the robust political structure which the APC had built over the years which has seen over 90% of members of the major opposition party, People’s Democratic Party, decamping to the APC.

The APC chairman, Abdullahi Bello and other party leaders said that APC campaign activities has been restructured in a bid to ensure more engagement with the people at the local level stating that the ruling party was upbeat of a landslide victory.

The party leaders noted that the APC remained united and not interested in any ethnic agenda as such would only drag the state backward
