The Nigerian government says the Agribusiness Incubation Centre situated in the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Kogi State, North Central Nigeria is aimed at boosting food production and security in the country.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Ernest Umakhihe, who said this during the inauguration of the center, noted that government remained dedicated to sustaining and enhancing the current growth in the agricultural sector.

The Federal government senior official explained that the Agribusiness Incubation Centre would serve as a practical knowledge hub, where individuals can acquire practical skills, processes, and inputs related to specific commodities.

The Permanent Secretary also noted that the federal government was actively working to promote both local and foreign partnerships to boost trade and investment in agriculture as a key strategy for diversifying the country’s economy.
