Emir of Talata partners FRSC to reduce “Ember Months” accidents

The Emir of Talata Mafara in Zamfara State, Bello Muhammad, has pledged to partner with the Federal Road Safety Corps, to ensure the reduction of road accidents during the last quarter of the year; popularly referred to as “ember” months and beyond.

He gave the commitment during his investiture as honorary Special Marshall by the Sector Commander in Zamfara State, Uchechukwu Wihioka.

The last four months of the year, tagged “ember months” has large volume of vehicles plying the road with several crashes recorded.

This explains why the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Zamfara State has been visiting FRSC Unit Commands to monitor and to also ensure total enforcement of the new number plates.

It is to also flagged off the “ember months” campaign, geared towards ensuring zero road accidents.

The Zamfara State Sector Commander, Uchechukwu Wihioka, asked personnel of the corps to impound any vehicle that has no new number plate, in order to safeguard the society of criminals.

Shortly after his investiture as the honorary Special Marshal, the Emir of Talata Mafara, Bello Muhammad said he will lead the ember months campaign, to sensitize motorists and the public to be conscious of road safety, and to protect their lives and those of other road users.

The investiture of the Emir of Talata Mafara as honorary Special Marshal brings the number of honorary Special Marshals in Zamfara State to four.
