Federal Government commits to police reforms… Police Affairs Minister

The Federal Government has assured Nigerian youths and the EndSARS protesters, that it is committed to implementing their demands on police reforms and promoting good governance

Minister of police affairs , Mohammed Dingyadi, said this at the training of the new SWAT personnel, ongoing at the police training college in Nasarawa Eggon local government area of the state.

More than 421 policemen of the new SWAT unit, are undergoing training in Nasarawa state, to replace the former SARS personnel in response to demands for reforms and an end to police brutality.

Minister of police affairs Mohammed Dingyadi said that Nigerians should expect a better service delivery and more humane approach of the police to security situation in the country.

Dingyadi urged the youths to co-operate with government, in meeting their demands, as the new SWAT personnel are been trained to tackle armed robbery and other crimes

Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Akabe, also added his voice and called for calm and understanding from the people in having a world-class institution.

Akabe said that with the setting up of judicial commission of enquiry across the country, most of the complaints of the EndSARS protesters, will be looked into and steps taken to implement the report at the end of its work.
