Bauchi State Governor Mohammed, Assents To 2024 Budget, Other Bills

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed said the 2024 Budget would epitomises his administration’s desire to accord priority in the equitable distribution of projects across the state.

The Governor was speaking after signing into law the state’s 2024 Budget at the Government House, Bauchi.

After passing through the usual legislative processes, Bauchi State House of Assembly members led by the Speaker, Mohammed Babayo Akuyam on Thursday, presents the 2024 Budget document along with three other executive bills passed by the lawmakers to Governor Bala Mohammed for his assent.

Assenting to the 2024 Budget appropriation law, Governor Bala Mohammed expressed his appreciation the state lawmakers for scrutinising the proposal within the reasonable time, which according to him would enable his administration to continue with the execution of various human and capital projects in the state.

The Governor also signed other bills into law, including; a new law to provide and protect rights of the Child in Bauchi State and other related matters 2023; a law establishing the Bauchi State Urban Water and Sewerage Cooperation; the Bauchi State Small Town Water and Sanitation Agency; the Bauchi Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency; and the Bauchi State Water Services Regulatory Commission, as well as amendment law on the Bauchi State Ophans and Vulnerable Children Agency 2023.

Governor Bala Mohammed assures the people that his government would continue to partner with relevant stakeholders to take Bauchi state to greater heights of economic growth and prosperity.
