Kogi Gov. Bello signs 3 bills

Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello, has signed into Law fifteen bills presented to him by the Kogi State House of Assembly

Governor Bello while assenting to the bills on Wednesday at the government house, Lokoja, expressed confidence that the implementation of the laws signed and other previous ones would ensure rapid development of the state.

Prominent among the fifteen bills signed into law are those targeted at improving the Internally Generated Revenue portfolio of the state across the 21 Local Government Areas.

There is also the law that repeals the Kogi state Internal Revenue Administration, Harmonisation of Taxes, Duties, Levies Rate, Fees and charges due to the state and revenue appeal tribunal law 2017 and to re-enact the revenue administration and other matters.

The speaker, KOGI State House of Assembly, Aliyu Yusuf, noted that the legislative arm remained committed to supporting the executive arm to fast track the development of the state in the interest of the people.

Some other bills signed into Law made provision for the Revenue and Expenditure of all the Twenty-One (21) Local Government Areas of Kogi State for the year ending 31st December, 2024 and other matters connected therewith, as well as making provision for Supplementary Appropriation for the Twenty-One (21) Local Government Areas of Kogi State for the year ending 31st December.
