Organised Labour has staged a walkout on a meeting called by the Federal Government at the Presidential Villa over crucial national issues.
The meeting which was part of the follow up to earlier meetings to halt threats of strike by organised labour over the twin increment in petrol pump price and electricity tariff was fixed for 7pm at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The meeting which has been presided over by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige was to preview the palliatives promised workers to cushion the effect of the deregulation of the downstream sector of the petroleum industry.

Sunday’s meeting was expected to have labour raise concerns over the recent hike in petrol pump price but it was never to be as organised labour staged a walkout.
Minutes after walking out, the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has fixed an emergency media conference for Monday.
