Super Eagles winger, Ademola Lookman has been named the Man-Of-The-Match in the team’s 2-0 win over Cameroon in the round of 16 of Saturday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Lookman, who was at his best, scored the opening goal for Nigeria in the 36th minute after Napoli goal poacher Victor Osimhen set a perfect assist to put Nigeria ahead.
The Nigerian international sealed the win in the 90th minute after one of the game’s best moves, volleying home Calvin Bassey’s cross to spark huge celebrations among the three-time champions.
The Super Eagles will now meet Angola, who impressed in a 3-0 win over Namibia earlier, in the last eight on Friday, also in the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium.
Should Lookman replicate this kind of performance further in the tournament, Nigeria will feel they have every chance of winning the fourth AFCON title.
