The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Lagos State, Philip Avioji, who was abducted on Thursday, January twenty fifth has been released.
Avioji and some other members of the PDP were kidnapped around bamboo area of Ogun state along the Lagos Ibadan expressway on their return from the party’s zonal stakeholders meeting held in oyo state, according to the Ogun state police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola.
Avioji’s release was confirmed in a statement by the party’s state publicity secretary, Hakeem Amode in the early hours of Monday.
The Ogun state police command had earlier rescued nine out of ten persons from the alleged kidnappers and recovered one Ak 47 containing twenty-eight live ammunition.
