Government in Niger State has announced that it released a N300million counterpart fund for the development of primary health care facilities in the state.
The Commissioner For Primary Health Care, Ibrahim Dangana, said this during a meeting with the Directors Of The Primary Health Care Development Agency, PHCDA from the 25 Local Government Areas of the state.
According to him, the government is committed to revamping all dilapidated primary healthcare facilities in the state and equipping them for better medical services for the people.
Dangana said the Ministry has keyed into the vision of Governor Umar Bago, to reposition the primary health care delivery system, and provide affordable medical services to the people at their doorsteps.

The Commissioner further said the newly created Ministry for Primary Health Care has taken stock of healthcare facilities in the villages to upgrade them, to meet the medical needs of the citizens.
He urged the directors at the local governments to ensure the strict implementation of the mandate of the ministry, adding that as a full-fledged ministry, staff cannot compromise their responsibilities to the people.
