The Nasarawa State Government is to distribute about 20,000 bags of rice to vulnerable households as part of strategies to cushion the prevailing economic hardship being experienced in the state.
Governor Abdullahi Sule disclosed this while commissioning a newly built public primary school in Keffi Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor added that his administration would also distribute cash to persons not under the employment of government in order to assist them engage in meaningful economic activity.
Sule also noted that his administration is already giving cash palliative to civil servants and pensioners hence the need for more focus on those who are not on government payroll.

At least 3,000 qualified primary school teachers are to be recruited following the approval of Governor Sule while another 700 will be engaged at the local government level.
The Governor also mentioned that Keffi is among other towns being considered by the Federal Government to site a housing scheme under the Renewed Hope Housing Estate launched recently by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
