Human rights groups under the aegis of Osun Civil Societies Coalition (OCSC) on Monday trooped out in Osogbo, the state capital to protest over the economic hardship in the country.

The placard-carrying protesters converged on Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo for the take-off and marched through the Old Garage, Ajegunle and  terminated at the popular Olaiya under bridge, Osogbo.

The Spokespersons of the groups who led other protesters Comrade Waheed Lawal, and waheed saka say they staged the protest to express their displeasure over the economic hardship in the country.

They called on president Bola Tinubu and all tiers of government to address the ugly situation promptly, adding that Nigeria is becoming difficult due to the increase in the prices of commodities since the inception of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.

They hinted that the  protest was organised to sensitise the residents on the mother-of-all protest billed to hold on Tuesday nationwide.

The protesters expressed concern over the spate of insecurity in Nigeria, saying kidnapping in the country is unabated with payment of ransom.
