The low turn out of workers on the Plateau in solidarity to the nation wide protest declared by the national body of the Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) on Tuesday, has been attributed to hunger in the land and the insecurity bedeviling the State.
Chairman of NLC in Plateau State, Eugine Manji, declared that the protest is to register workers concern over the rising cost of living and the need for a quick intervention.
The workers who converged on the Secretariat junction, Jos carried placards with various inscriptions and sang solidarity songs.
Manji noted that the harsh economic situation in the country is responsible for the nation wide protest
Reacting to the protest, some residents of Plateau State expressed worries at the level of suffering Nigerians are passing through.
They called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the already bad situation before it degenerates into what might just be difficult to handle.
