President Bola Tinubu has said that there is “no going back” on various reforms embarked by his administration, just as he assured Nigerians of sustaining the ongoing war against corruption in the country.
The Nigerian leader who stated this on Thursday while commissioning the Red Line Train corridor in Ikeja, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, noted that he remains committed to people oriented policies.
Tinubu whose administration as governor of Lagos State started the modern train transportation system project, vowed that his noe Federal administration will fight corruption with all vigour and ensure that Nigerians enjoy full dividends of democracy.
The President commended the Lagos State government for implementing the Red Line train project, urging the State government to execute more people oriented developmental projects.
Earlier, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu said the Red Line rail initiative is to ease transportation problems facing residents, stressing that the State government is doing a lot to engender development in every part of Lagos.
The President together with some State Governors who witnessed the inauguration later took a train ride from Ikeja station.
The Red Line train corridor is the first phase of the project, which will run from Agbado in Ogun State to Oyingbo in the heart of Lagos State, is expected to run 37 trips and convey about 500,000 passengers on daily basis, when fully in operation.
