The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has described the death of its former President, Charles Idehen, as a loss not just to the legal profession but also to Nigeria as a nation.
NBA’s President Yakubu Maikyau in a press release says Idehen, during his tenure as the NBA president was renowned for his active commitment to the rule of law and advocacy for democracy in Nigeria.
The 83 year old Idehen, who died on Friday in Benin City, Edo state was elected in 1989 as the president of NBA.
Maikyau, says The passing of Charles Idehen which comes just a few days after the interment of another former President of the NBA, Arakurin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has created another big vacuum in the Bar.
The NBA President has urged families and friends to be consoled by the remarkable life late Idehen lived praying that Almighty God grants them the continuous strength to bear this irreparable loss.
