The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in. Zamfara State, Sani Mustapha has charged the seventeen new intake to assimilate and imbibe all the special training they have received for the past four months, jettison civilian mentality and take up the regimentation inculcated in them.
The State commandant of the Corps gave the charge during the passing out of the 2023 new intake that was done the same day as the International Civil Defence Day and is expected to contribute to fighting banditry and restoring peace in Zamfara State.

The state Commandant Sani Mustapha who personally monitored the training periods of these personnel, gave commendation letters to the most punctual, disciplined, and best in weapon handling and the outstanding performance of drill instructors including Deputy Commandant Aliyu Haruna, Head of Training Department in Zamfara State Command.
According to the commandant the trainees were rigorously trained by the State Command’s Training Department in the first phase of this induction training for four months.

This year’s International Civil Defence Day Celebration’s theme is; Honour Heroes and Promote Safety Skills.
Haruna said the theme depicts the NSCDC’s contributions to nation-building in the protection of critical infrastructures and the maintenance of security of which many personnel of the Corps have paid Supreme prices.
A minute silence was observed in honor of the fallen Heroes who had gallantly paid Supreme prices at various times. The commandant also took time to commiserate with families of fallen officers and men.

The Zamfara State command of the Corps as part of celebration of the International Civil Defence Day staged a ten-kilometer road walk led by the State Commandant, Sani Mustapha to create awareness amongst the Civil populace about the role of the NSCDC not only protecting national assets and security but disaster management.
