Akwa Ibom Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno has stressed the need for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, to have a conducive environment to operate.
Governor Eno stated this when he flagged off the construction of the permanent office of the NSCDC in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital.
For the personnel of the Akwa Ibom state command of the NSCDC, the journey to a more efficient operating environment has begun with hope of its permanent place of abode in the horizon with the groundbreaking of its permanent office.
Governor Umo Eno, represented by his deputy, Akon Eyakenyi stated that the project was timely.
Commandant General of the corps , Abubakar Audi, represented by the Deputy Commandant General, Ningi Ibrahim, lauded the state government for providing the land and support for the corps.
State Commander of the NSCDC, Eluyemi Eluwade spoke of the importance of the project.
The event coincided with the international civil defence day and the passing out ceremony of the newly inducted personnel.
