Oyo State Government has arraigned three persons, for their alleged involvement in the January 16, 2024 explosion that rocked Bodija area of Ibadan, the state capital killing 14 persons. They accused persons are Ramatu Toyin Camara, Ganiyu Malik and Abubakar Bamasa.
The suspects were arraigned on a five-count charge of stockpiling of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons which also destroyed buildings on three streets in the area bringing them to rubble. The prosecuting counsel, Adu Fawole had presented the three defendants before the court on counts which also include conspiracy and felony.
The defendants all pleaded not guilty to all the counts and further hearing on the matter has been adjourned till April 11.
While other accused persons are still at large, the court directed the three defendants arraigned to be remanded at the Agodi Custodial Centre.
