A combined team of security operatives and local vigilantes in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, South-South Nigeria have recovered the decomposing corpses of some of the policemen killed by suspected herdsmen.

According to sources, six corpses were recovered when the security team stormed the forest at Agadama, Ohoror community in Ughelli North, on Monday afternoon.

AIT.live gathered that, the huts of the suspected killer herdsmen were also destroyed from the forest.

Although the State Police Command has not reacted, a police inspector from the Ughelli Command, who spoke on condition of anonymity told AIT.live that the recovered corpses have been deposited at Central Hospital morgue in Ughelli.

It would be recalled, that on January 24, 2024, three police officers at a nipping point in Ohoror community, Ughelli North, were detailed to respond to a distressed call by one Moses Progress, now at large who was allegedly robbed by suspected herdsmen.

The three officers all inspectors, detailed to respond to the distress call never returned till date. While the corpses of six officers have been recovered, 15 others allegedly missing are yet to be found.
