Terrorists have abducted an unspecified number of students from LEA Primary School Kuriga, in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, North-West Nigeria.
Residents claim that over 200 students and the Principal of the Junior Secondary School were among those abducted during the incident, which occured on Thursday morning around 8.20am shortly after the early morning assembly activities.
The LEA school accommodates both Junior and Secondary students on the same premises. This school had been relocated from the town’s outskirts to Kuriga town a few years ago due to security concerns.

The residents say that when the terrorists appeared on the school premises, most students fled their classes. Those who were abducted were reportedly taken into the forest by the bandits.
While there has been no official reaction from the Kaduna State Government, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the incident. He mentioned that their personnel are currently trailing the abductors with the hope of rescuing the victims.
