Gombe State Government says it would continue to pay and cater for its workers that have retired thus ensuring prompt payment of their gratuities and pensions while paying up the backlog of entitlements owed them.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya made the commitment while flagging-off the new phase of payments of backlog of gratuities to over 4,000 state and local government retirees.

The State Government would pay over N5 billion reducing the huge burden to N7 billion which was put at N21 billion at the assumption of office by Governor Yahaya on May 29, 2019.

In another development, the State Government has honoured young Hajara Ibrahim Dan Azumi for being the winner at an international female Quranic recitation competition.

The State Government assures it would continue to reward individuals who perform creditably at international competitions
